Cong claims that the emphasis on Old City Development by CM R Reddy
HYDERABAD, FEB 16 : Congress leaders, including TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin and Hyderabad DCC President Sameer Waliullah, emphasised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s commitment to the development of the Old City.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, here on Friday, the Congress leaders highlighted key initiatives, such as the Musi Riverfront Development Project with a budget allocation of Rs 1,000 crore and the approval of the Metro Rail project in the Old City, particularly the corridor from MGBS to RGIA.
The leaders also mentioned the proposed completion of the Metro Rail Stretch from MGBS to Falaknuma as part of Phase-I construction and the Congress Government’s plans to finalise IT Towers in Malakpet.
Congress leaders underlined the benefits of their six guarantees for the people of the Old City and disclosed that a significant number of applications received during the Praja Palana program were from the Charminar zone.
Addressing the political landscape, Nizamuddin commented on MIM’s actions, accusing them of creating a false impression of friendliness with Congress and manipulating BJP leaders into mentioning MIM in their speeches. Waliullah criticised MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for delivering the same speech for the past 20 years and accused MIM of a survival strategy that keeps the Old City backward.
Waliullah stated that MIM’s attempt to be friendly with Congress is a result of their fear of losing in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He highlighted Congress’s organisational strength in the Old City and expressed confidence in winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections, affirming his candidacy for the party ticket.(UNI)
