Cong applauds the alertness inquiry regarding the Kaleswaram Medigadda Barrage: G. Niranjan

HYDERABAD, JAN 10   :    G Niranjan, Senior Vice President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), expressed that the people of Telangana have recognized the sincerity of the Congress government through the initiation of a vigilance enquiry into the Kaleswaram Medigadda barrage.

He highlighted the Chief Minister’s letter to the Chief Justice of Telangana, urging for an enquiry by a sitting judge, and stated that the Congress party welcomes this decision.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Niranjan asserted that it is the government’s responsibility to uncover and disclose how the KCR family allegedly exploited Telangana, which was achieved through prolonged struggles and sacrifices. He called for the exposure of extortion activities by the KCR family.

Niranjan raised concerns about reports of valuable information being shifted from Pragathi Bhavan on December 3, coinciding with election result announcements, calling for a thorough investigation. He questioned the allocation of Rs 55 crores to the Formula E-race during the Election Code period and demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the matter, advocating for criminal cases against involved officers and KTR.

Drawing attention to the additional contracts awarded to Mega Engineering firm for the Kaleswaram project, he referenced the CAG report pointing out unnecessary increases in capacity and cost. Niranjan emphasized the need for firm and strict action to deter leaders and officials from engaging in such practices in the future.
Regarding KTR’s statement about KCR’s return in February, Niranjan warned that under current circumstances, the people of Telangana may not welcome him, given their dissatisfaction with the BRS government. He criticized the BRS for allegedly returning power with empty promises, contrasting it with the Congress government that, he claimed, is working sincerely.

Highlighting the Abhaya Hastam scheme, Niranjan urged officials to act responsibly, ensure digital entry of every application, and create additional centers in areas with insufficient Aadhaar card update centers to address people’s concerns.(UNI)
