CM to open KUWJ state conference on November 14 in Kannur
KANNUR, NOV 11 : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 59th state conference of Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) and release its modernized website at Navaneetham Auditorium here on next Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, KUWJ state president M V Vineetha said Senior Congress leader and former Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala will be the Chief Guest at the conference.
Former Lok Sabha MP and Senior lawyer Thampan Thomas will be honoured on stage as a respect for giving legal advices to the organizations during the past years.
Around 1000 delegates from 14 districts of Kerala and the members of KUWJ working in other states will also take part in the conference.
The annual conference of the KUWJ is being held in Kannur at a time when the media sector and journalists are facing many crisis in the profession.
The crisis, the scribes are facing, will be discussed in detail in the conference, said Vineetha.
The State Executive meeting of the KUWJ will be held at Kannur Press club on Monday.(UNI)
