CM Rangasamy spent Rs 6.50 lakhs for Assembly election
Puducherry, Jul 2 :Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy had shown an expense of Rs 6.50 lakh for the recent legislative Assembly elections here.
According to the details released by a social organization here, the ceiling of election expenses for a candidate in the union territory was Rs 22 lakhs. Of the ten candidates who spent the maximum, N R Congress candidate Thirumurgan who contested from Karaikal (North) stood first with Rs 15.47 lakhs, followed by BJP candidate Kalynasundaram from Kalapet with Rs 14.5 lakhs. Yanam independent candidate Kollappally Srinivasa Ashok spent Rs13.8 lakhs while Speaker R Selvam Rs12.97 lakhs.
Chief minister N Rangasamy spent Rs 6.50 lakhs, Minister Chandrapriyanga Rs 7.27 lakhs, Lakshminarayanan– Rs 6.45 lakhs, Namasivayam– Rs 6.16 lakhs, Theni C Jayakuamr– Rs.5 lakhs.
In the list of those who spent the least Oulgrete independent member Sivasankaran spent Rs.2.17 lakhs, Independent member from Muthialpet Prakash Kumar spent Rs.2.46 lakhs and Uppalam DMK member Anibal Kennedy spent Rs.3.8 lakhs.(UNI)
