CM inaugurates new building of JUHC
Puducherry, Jun 14 : Chief Minister N Rangaswamy Today inaugurated the new building of the Jipmer Urban Health Centre (JUHC) constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
According to a Jipmer release, Legislator K Lakshminarayanan and Jipmer Director Dr.Rakesh Aggarwal took part in the function.
The JUHC, established in 1954 was catering the medical needs of the people of four villages.
During the Covid pandemic period, the health team of JUHC continued to provide all routine services, in addition to Covid related activities.
The new building has an added benefit of a more spacious out-patients consultation area besides designated areas for counselling services, weekly consultation with specialities who visit the centre.
It is proposed to provide Physiotherapy service and to hold regular health awareness session for the beneficiaries, the release added.(UNI)
