Clerk caught taking bribe of Rs 3k

Nanded, Mar 02 : A junior clerk working with the Rural Hospital in Babhalgaon in Latur district Promod Sitape walked in a trap laid by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and proved demanding a bribe of Rs 3000 from a complaint, today.
The accused Sitape, working in the capacity of a junior with the Rural Hospital in Babhalgaon in Latur district demanded a bribe of Rs 4000 as a bribe for sanctioning an amount under the Seventh Pay Commission from the complaint. On negotiation, he agreed to accept Rs 3000. Accordingly, a trap was laid in which, in the presence of the witness, it was proved that the accused demanded the bribe. Hence the officials of the ACB lodged a complaint with the Rural Police Station Latur under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against the accused. The action was undertaken by police inspector (ACB) BH Kakade and his staff under the direction of the superintendent of police ACB Kalpana Bawarkar, additional SP Archana Patil and deputy SP Vijay Dongre.
