Clarify on how much money deposited in farmers’ accounts : TDP demands YSRCP govt
Vijayawada, Oct 27 : Telugu Desam Party State President K Atchannaidu Today demanded the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed YSRCP government to clarify to the people on how much money was exactly deposited in the bank accounts of farmers under the latest Rythu Bharosa scheme.
In a statement here, the TDP state chief dared the ruling party leaders whether they had any guts to speak about how much money was released under Rythu Bharosa scheme on Tuesday.
Was it not a fact that just Rs. 30 crore was deposited in farmers’ accounts yesterday? But, the Government cheated the farmers by saying that Rs. 1,213 crore was released. Even the claim on Rs. 18,777 crore payments under Rythu Bharosa scheme till now was also a big lie.
Ms Atchannaidu asserted that the 60 percent of the funds being released under farmers’ programmes were borne by the Centre.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was spending hundreds of crores of public funds on his personal publicity, he alleged.
The TDP leader recalled how Mr Reddy promised to give money under Rythu Bharosa scheme to 64.06 lakh farmers in the State but now the benefit was being given to just 45 lakh.
He said just 41,000 out of the total 15.36 lakh tenant farmers were getting the benefit. The benefit of Rs. 12,500 was promised in one installment but now it was being given in three installments. That too, the State’s share was reduced from Rs. 12,500 to Rs. 7,500 only.
Decrying the Government’s ‘ulterior plans’, Mr Atchannaidu said that the YSRCP manifesto promised Rs. 50,000 benefit to every farmer’s family in five years but reduced the same to Rs. 37,500.
The number of beneficiaries was greatly reduced. On the other hand, wrong claims were being made that the Government was giving Rs. 67,500 per family, he said.
The TDP state president asserted that the Chandrababu headed party regime followed friendly policies and deposited Rs. 15,279 crore into farmers’ accounts under loan waiver programme.
The TDP completed 23 irrigation projects and stabilised 32 lakh acres under cultivation.
The Chandrababu Naidu rule spent Rs. 64,000 crore on irrigation in five years. But, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy totally neglected irrigation, he alleged and said even the lifeline projects were undermined in the past two-and-half years.
The TDP leader alleged that over 1,500 farmers had committed suicide due to the unfriendly policies of the YSRCP regime till now.
The Government did not fulfill its promise to pay Rs. 7 lakh ex-gratia to the families of each deceased farmer, he added.(UNI)
