Claiming that KCR’s claims are fabrications, Uttam Kumar Reddy

HYDERABAD, APR 1   :   Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N Uttam Kumar Reddy refuted former CM K Chandrashekhar Rao’s allegations, attributing them to KCR’s frustration and depression following his loss of power in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Uttam dismissed KCR’s claims regarding the Congress government’s responsibility for drought conditions. He highlighted the uninterrupted 24×7 power supply across Telangana and predicted the demise of BRS in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Uttam criticised KCR’s lavish lifestyle during his tenure and accused him of peddling falsehoods during his recent visit to drought-affected areas. He denounced KCR’s handling of the irrigation sector and criticised the Kaleshwaram project’s cost overruns and delays.

Regarding water scarcity, Uttam presented statistics comparing water availability in major reservoirs and rejected KCR’s allegations of transferring projects to the KRMB. He ridiculed KCR’s claims of resolving Hyderabad’s water problem and dismissed allegations of farmers’ suicides, attributing the onset of drought to the closing stages of the BRS regime.

He emphasised the government’s efforts to address crop damages and ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies. He disclosed that district collectors have been tasked with assessing crop damages and awaiting reports from the National Dam Safety Authority regarding damages to the Kaleshwaram project.(UNI)
