Celebrities pay tribute to acting legend Betty White

Los Angeles, Jan 2 : Former co-stars and admirers of legendary American actress and comedian Betty White have paid tribute to her on social media, sharing stories about the veteran actor who had a career spanning eight decades in show business.White passed away aged 99 just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday.
The legendary TV actress had an extensive filmography and stints in TV shows spanning a multi-decade legacy that includes starring roles on influential shows like “The Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, as well as beloved guest spots on more recent shows like “Community”.
Happy Days star Henry Winkler wrote on Twitter: “I(t) is very hard to absorb you are not here anymore.. But the memories of your deLIGHT are.. Thank you for your humour, your warmth and your activism… Rest now and say Hi to Bill.”
“The world looks different now,” tweeted actor Ryan Reynolds, who starred alongside White in “The Proposal”, the 2009 romantic comedy that kick-started a late-career resurgence for the actress. “She was great at defying expectation.”
Reynolds’ fellow “Proposal” co-star Mary Steenburgen also paid tribute to the comedian saying “Betty White radiated joy and gratitude and was enthusiastically a lover of animals, laughter, life, and people. In that order. I used to stare at her in the mornings in the makeup trailer when she wasn’t looking. Trying to breathe in her magic. I’m doing that today.”
“RIP Betty White, the only SNL host I ever saw get a standing ovation at the after party. A party at which she ordered a vodka and a hotdog and stayed til the bitter end,” tweeted Seth Meyers.
