BRS CEO KCR shifts gears with the release of “X
HYDERABAD 29 : Following BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has frequently been criticized for being inaccessible, made his X debut on Saturday and quickly gained 27,000 followers after he stubbornly avoided social media even while serving as chief minister.
After failing to get a third term as Telangana chief minister, KCR has taken on a blitzkrieg of outreach in his new persona. He started his official X handle, went on a bus yatra, and did a long TV interview.
According to some experts, the shift in strategy is essential to his political significance. He has frequently been accused by his detractors of being “unavailable” to everyone, including his MLAs; this accusation is also being used to explain his election loss. Some Telangana figures, on the other hand, have amassed sizable followings on social media, including KT Rama Rao, A Revanth Reddy, Raja Singh, Kishan Reddy, K Kavitha, and Bandi Sanjay.
Along with its other leaders, BRS is concentrating on reviving its own social media presence in addition to that of the party chairman. “As Telangana’s first chief minister, KCR conducted numerous press conferences for hours, even during Covid,” BRS Social Media convenor Manne Krishank told TOI. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi shied away from such meetings.” As the head of the opposition, he needs to establish stronger ties with the populace, but his emphasis on welfare, development, and governance as chief minister is still praiseworthy. KCR attended one hundred public meetings in the run-up to the previous assembly elections.
“KCR has been on Facebook for a number of years, but we’ve also been promoting his presence on platforms like Instagram,” Krishank stated. X, the former Twitter, has greater influence because it has the government, the media, and politicians.”
Errabelli Rajinikanth, a political strategist, stated: “KCR needs to give it his all to survive politically. For his party, the impending parliamentary elections are vital. The goal of these offline and online outreach initiatives is to save the party.(UNI)
