Thane, Jun 20 : A 16-year-old boy reportedly drowned in a lake while his friend went missing in the jungle here Today.
The deceased has been identified as Prasad Madhukar Pawaskar, who lived in the city’s New Police Line area.
Both of them along with other four minors had went for swimming in the Neel Talao of Yeoor hills this morning, stated Thane civic body RDMC chief Santosh Kadam.
As Prasad jumped into the lake, he got hit on a rock and suffered injuries. His friends tried to save him but could not succeed, said Mr Kadam.
His body has been sent for a postmortem and the Vartak Nagar police have registered a case of accidental death.
While, a search is underway for the missing boy, he added.(UNI)
