Book on Raj Bhavan & brochure on birds released

Panaji, Mar 4 :On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari released a brochure on Birds of Raj Bhavan, published by the Goa Forest Department and formally inaugurated the Bird Watching Trail in Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
He also released a book on Raj Bhavan published by Goa Tourism Development Corporation.
Secretary of Governor Mihir Vardhan, IAS, Chief Wildlife Warden Santosh Kumar, IFS, Director of Tourism Menino D’Souza, Managing Director of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Nikhil Desai, Jt Secretary to Governor Gaurish Shankhawalkar, officials of Forest Department as well as GTDC were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated both the GTDC and Goa Forest Department for the brochure and book launch.
He also praised Secretary Mihir Vardhan for new and innovative initiatives like the bird trail and Raj Bhavan tours.
“Opening of Raj Bhavan to public with a guided tour is a very noble task. Goa is not limited to beaches, but is blessed with immense flora and fauna. Raj Bhavan is one such marvel, where-in many migratory birds can be spotted. The aushadhi vatika, grotto, the chapel depicts the history of the place which must be told to the public as well as the tourists. Keeping the sanctity alive of this place will be a team work, let us do it and take Goa’s tourism at the next level,” the Governor said. (UNI)
