Bogus TTE arrested at Kalyan railway station
Thane, May 6:TheKalyan Railway Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from Bhandup of Mumbai for allegedly posing as a Travelling Ticket Examiner and checking as well collecting fines from the passengers on express trains at Kalyan railway station.
On Tuesday, a Crime Branch team of the Kalyan Railway Police on their rounds at platform No 4 of the Kalyan station found the accused TTE in one of the bogies of the Kushi Nagar Express checking the tickets of the passengers and imposing fine on them.
So they carried out his check and it turned out that he was a bogus TTE, police said.
Police immediately arrested him and a search of him revealed that he was wearing the fake uniform of the TTE.
They seized from him fake ID card of the TTE and also a bogus receipt book from his possession besides Rs 3,500 in cash.
An offence under sections 419, 420, 465, 468, 471, 170 and 171 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused Asraf Abdul Vahab Ali, sources said, adding, further probe is underway.(UNI)
