SHIMLA (HP), JUNE 4 :  BJP’s ID Lakhanpal on Tuesday won the Barsar Assembly by-election seat in Himachal Pradesh, defeating Subhash Chand of the Congress party by 2,125 votes.
Lakhanpal polled 33,086 votes against 30,961 secured by the Congress’ Chand.
In the last election, Lakhanpal had won this seat by a margin of 13,792 votes by defeating Maya Sharma of the BJP.

Workers of the BJP and others celebrated the victory and also garlanded Lakhanpal after his victory. A victory procession was also taken out.(UNI)
