BJP MP calls for a regulatory body to manage deepfake images created by AI.
NEW DELHI, DEC 21 : BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday urged the government to form a stringent regulatory body to control Artificial intelligence (AI) generated “deepfake” content which spreads misinformation widely.
In the Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour, he expressed his concerns over misleading information propagated by deepfake videos generated by AI. “Deepfake videos are dangerous for democracy. These might be misused during the elections. These types of videos are generating misinformation,” Modi said.
Raising the issues of Handloom industries, BJD MP Sujeet Kumar urged the government to provide an exemption of GST for handloom work.
Demanding that the construction work of the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line be expedited, BJP MP Sikander Kumar said, “Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway project is under pipeline. Once the project is completed, it will be very helpful for people as well as the tourism sector. I urge the government and railway ministry to provide funds for the project.”
BJP MP Satish Chandra Dubey demanded the restoration of seven trains between Narkatiaganj and Raxaul in Bihar. The trains were operational earlier.
“In 2018, the work of railway line upgradation on the same stretch was completed but the trains which were passing through these areas earlier have not been made operational on the same route,” said Dubey. (UNI)
