BJP-led Govt at Centre abusing central machinery to harass, intimidate Opposition: MPCC

Mumbai, Jun 18 : Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole on Saturday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government for abusing the central machinery to harass and intimidate the Opposition parties in the country.

In a statement, he attacked the central government for misusing the central investigation agencies to suppress the voice of the Opposition and intimidate them.

He said that the BJP government at the Centre was using the CBI and Enforcement Directorate as a weapon and it was a dangerous precedent for democracy.

“The BJP has crossed all limits for its greed for power. False rumours are being spread that there is a breakdown in the alliance but the breakdown is not in the alliance but in BJP,” the MPCC chief noted.

“The BJP is creating obstacles in the state Legislative Council election, but the calculation of numbers is on the side of Maha Vikas Aghadi,” he stressed.

The Congress needs 12 votes for the second seat, while BJP needs 22 votes for the fifth candidate, he pointed.

The BJP is claiming victory on the basis of money and the central investigation agencies, but it will not work this time, Patole said and added that the MVA has enough numbers and all its six candidates will win in this election.(UNI)
