‘BJP govt must stop fooling & start fulfilling promises as Goa ranks 2nd in unemployment’

Margao, April 4: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Sunday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government must now stop fooling and start fulfilling the promises given to the people of Goa.

In a statement, he said the data released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) ranking Goa as second in unemployment was one more feather in the Ccp of BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.

‘The directionless BJP government has pushed Goa into financial bankruptcy & economic disaster since grabbing power in 2012. The data released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has once again exposed the false claims of the BJP Government on employment in the state. This is a tight slap on the face of all those who are doing false propaganda of creating job opportunities for youth in Goa,’ he alleged.

Mr Kamat said,’BJP Government has finished the employment opportunities one after the other after grabbing power in 2012. They stopped mining, did not take any proactive steps to boost tourism, shelved the Goa Vision -2035 Report, and also failed to revive the economy. The performance report of the BJP Government from 2012 is reflected in the 21 cases of corruption and illegalities ordered for investigation by the former Lokayukta of Goa. Besides this, they don’t have a single achievement to show.’

‘The Chief Minister finally agreed to my suggestion to implement Goemcho Daiz Scheme. I once again demand that he must immediately accept and start implementing the “Goa Vision-2035” document which can actually create employment opportunities and revive the economy. It is high time that Chief Minister announces the Economic Revival Package to boost the marginalized sector. If the Government fails to take note of the situation, next month Goa will be on top of the unemployment chart,’ Mr. Kamat said. (UNI)
