BJP boycotts business advisory committee meeting, calls Cong government undemocratic

Bengaluru, July 4 : After boycotting Karnataka assembly business advisory committee meeting, the BJP on Tuesday slammed the Congress government alleging it was “functioning in an undemocratic fashion” as it prevented a debate on its failure to implement its five poll guarantees without any conditions.”We sought discussion on the failure to implement the ruling party’s five poll guarantees under adjournment motion. We also wanted to raise the issues of drought and drinking water problems in some parts of the state.”But, the government did not allow the discussion under the adjournment motion. This forced us to storm into the well of the assembly,” former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters at Vidhana Soudha here.Since UT Khader, the Karnataka Speaker, disallowed the discussion on these issues under adjournment motion, the BJP members boycotted the assembly business advisory committee meeting.Bommai also said that the BJP would take up what he called “instances of corruption” in the chief minister’s office and “money-for-transfers” during the debate in the House.
