Bihar govt to request Centre for good royalty from gold mines : Nitish

Patna, Feb 21 : Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Today said the state government would definitely request the Centre for good royalty from gold mines recently detected in Jamui district of Bihar. Kumar told media persons after ‘Janata Darbar’ organised at CM secretariat premises, said that state government would definitely seek good royalty at an appropriate time from the Centre against excavation of gold mines recently detected in Jamui district of Bihar. It was a matter of great pleasure that gold mines was detected in Bihar, he noted. Chief Minister responding to query of media persons, said that several places in Bihar were among oldest ones not only in India but also in the world. Many more such precious things and articles of historical importance would be found at several places in Bihar, he added. Kumar said that a vast empire was ruled from Bihar and its some parts were now in other countries. Experts had been showing keen interest in excavation in Bihar as they knew its historical importance, he added. Chief Minister said that not only in India but people across the globe were also interested to know about rich historical and cultural past of Bihar. His government had been making efforts to unravel new facets of history by excavation as its trace was hidden under the ground, he added.(UNI)
