Banned liquor seized in Nashik; two held
Nashik, April 25 : A large cache of banned liquor along with the container transporting it have been seized, totally valuing up to Rs 1.08 crore, the Maharashtra Excise Department stated today..
Two accused, including driver Bhagwandas Dhansingh Kushwaha (41) and Vinod Fulsingh Kushwaha (36), both from Rajasthan were also arrested in this connection, it added.
Acting on a tip-off, excise officials from Nashik and Yeola jointly laid a trap on Saturday near the Yeola toll plaza on the Nagar-Manmad Road and intercepted a suspicious container.
The team led by Divisional Flying Squad Inspector R M Fuljhalke found 1,280 cartons of liquor concealed in bathroom fixtures loaded on the container.
Further probe into the matter is underway.(UNI)
