‘Balbir’ sails out to Naval dockyard in Mumbai

Visakhapatnam, Jan 8 :The 200th vessel ‘Balbir’, built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) sailed out with its Engineers for delivery to the Indian Navy at Naval Dockyard in Mumbai Today.
The Tug has been completely designed and built by HSL which is capable of producing 50 Ton Bollard Pull and can achieve a speed of up to12 Knots.
During the first sea trials itself, ship has proved her capabilities and achieved performance greater than the contractual requirements, HSL said in a release here.
This is the last of the series of four 50T Bollard Pull Tugs built for the Indian Navy and with this, the HSL achieved the milestone of the 200th vessel built since its inception in 1941.
On December 31, 2021, HSL delivered the third of the four 50 ton Bollard Pull (BP) tugs to the Indian Navy. The tug is the 199th vessel being built and delivered by the shipyard.
On this occasion, HSL Director (Corporate Planning and Personnel) JP Gupta and Director (Ship building) Kunjumon E Mathew have congratulated all Officers, Staff and Workmen for professionalism.
They also thanked all stakeholders including the Indian Navy for extending their support for successful completion of the project on time.(UNI)
