Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Kerala Guv flags off CISF Cycle Rally
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 : Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan flagged off a Cycle Rally, organized by the Central Industrial Protection Force (CISF) as part of the Azadi Ka Amrita Mahotsav celebrations, to commemorate the 75 years of Indian Independence, at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Chief Secretary VP Joy, DGP Anil Kant, CISF South Sector Inspector General Anjana Sinha and Dr V Venu, Additional Chief Secretary (in-charge Higher Education) were also present on the occasion.
The Cycle rally will culminate on October 26 at the Ekta statue in Kevadia (Gujarat).
Officers and Jawans from 15 CISF Southern regions will travel a total of 2045 km in the rally during these days.
The rally will pass through historical sites associated with the National movement. After visiting Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod in Kerala, the rally will pass through Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman.
The rally is being organized in strict compliance with all the Covid 19 protocols in view of the pandemic situation.
The rally is part of 10 similar rallies organized by CISF in different parts of the country, emphasizing the importance of social unity, great heritage and values that India has shown to the world during the freedom struggle. In addition, the Cycle rally promotes a healthy lifestyle.(UNI)
