Aurangabad civic body identifies 26 COVID containment zones

Aurangabad, April 5: According to the latest survey conducted by the Municipal Corporation’s Smart City team, a total of 26 containment zones have been identified in the city.
Eight of these zones have been declared Big Hotspots for Corona Infection. The medium type consists of 12 parts and the micro containment zone consists of six parts.
Amid the COVID surge, the municipal administration had undertaken a survey by the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Team(ASCDCL) to determine the containment zones in the city.
A team of ASCDCL Deputy CEO Pushkal Shivam and Project Assistant Manager Sneha Nair completed the survey through a tackling system from Asha workers working in 37 health centers in the city.
The survey, conducted over the last twenty days, has identified 26 colonial containment zones as hotspots after studying all parts of the city.
They further classified the containment zones into three types. The first type has more than 15 and less than 50 active patients, six such colonies have been declared as micro containment zones.
The 12 areas with more than 50 and less than 100 active patients are declared as medium containment zones. The municipality on Sunday declared eight zones with more than 100 patients as big hotspots.
Necessary measures, including corona vaccination, will be implemented effectively now in these colonies, said civic sources. (UNI)
