Aurangabad city to be connected with national highways: MP Karad
Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Jun 13:BJP Rajya Sabha MP Bhagwat Karad Today informed that a network of national highways will be constructed on all four sides of Aurangabad city.
Dr Karad said that Rajiv Agarwal, the CEO of the National Highways Authority of India had assured him in this regard.
He informed that following projects have been planned: Aurangabad to Shirdi, Nagar Naka to Daulatabad T point, Aurangabad to Paithan, Aurangabad to Jalna and three flyovers on Jalna road in the city.
“The city of Aurangabad is developing at the fastest rate, with a growing population of citizens in the vicinity of the city. Therefore, widening and quadrangle of major roads outside the city is required,” said Dr Karad.
He further said, “Mr Agarwal has told that the NHAI will soon start work on four-laning of major roads. These include Nagar Naka, Mitmita to Daulatabad, Aurangabad Paithan, A S Club to Shirdi at a cost of at least Rs 700 crore.”
“The work of the highway will be done expeditiously with the 50 per cent partnership of the Saibaba Sansthan Shirdi and the NHAI,” he added
Dr Karad has also demanded that flyovers be constructed at Mukundwadi on Jalna Road in front of Amarpreet Hotel and at Akashwani Chowk.
Vivek Deshpande, BJP district vice president Sanjay Khambayate, Kannad Zilla Parishad member Kishore Pawar and other were also present.(UNI)
