VIJAYAWADA, JUNE 7 : Neerabh Kumar Prasad on Friday took charge as Chief Secretary of Government of Andhra Pradesh. He took charge as the Chief Secretary in the Secretariat in Amaravati near here.
The government issued an Order 1034 appointing him Chief Secretary of AP. Two days ago, the then Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy went on leave. The 1988 batch IAS officer, Neerabah Kumar Prasad started his career as Assistant Collector in West Godavari district.
Since then, he held key positions including Chittoor district Collector in 1998, Director, Youth Welfare 1999, Managing Director, State dairy development corporation in 2000. Later he went to Central services.
Prasad has worked as Commissioner Fisheries, Municipal Administration, Principal Secretary, General Administration and Special Chief Secretary of TR & B. Since February 23, 2022, he had worked as State Tourism, forest Science and Technology department Special Secretary till he was appointed as Chief Secretary of Government of AP.
Speaking on the occasion, Neerabh Kumar Prasad thanked Chief Minister designate N Chandrababu Naidu for giving him an opportunity to work as Chief Secretary of Government.
He said that he would strive to take all departments forward with the cooperation of secretaries and heads of departments.
Prasad said he would give priority to implementing welfare schemes efficiently. General Administration Department Secretary Suresh Kumar, Special Chief Secretaries Gopal Krishna Dwevedi, Rajit Bhargav, K Vijayanan, Y Madhusudhan Reddy and a host of other Secretaries and top officials congratulated Neerabh Kumar Prasad.(UNI)
