As farmers’ protest grows 6-mnth-old, Min Malik seeks public support
Aurangabad/Mumbai, May 26 :Nawab Malik, National Spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party and Minister for Minorities, Today said it’s Centre’s misconception that the farmers’ agitation will end due to exhaustion of farmers.
Mr Malik told, “Today, farmers are observing black day and protest to mark the completion of six months of agitation against the farm laws. This movement has been supported by 14 parties including the NCP.”
He appealed people to express solidarity with the farmers and show their opposition by wearing black ribbons or through social media.
He further said, “If we want to make a new agricultural law, it can be done through discussion. The oppressive agricultural laws approved by the central government should
be withdrawn and the farmers should be taken in confidence.”
“The Supreme Court has stayed the agricultural laws enacted by the central government. Its implementation has not started. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the central government if the people are protesting against it for six months,” he asserted.
“Although the agitation slowed down during the Corona period, the Center should know that the farmers are against it and the Center should repeal the laws,” he demanded.(UNI)
