With continuous efforts of the government, the situation arising from the second wave of the corona pandemic in Uttar Pradesh is now under control and now three districts are ‘fresh’ or free from Coronavirus.
In the last 24 hours, 112 new patients have been confirmed in the state, while 258 patients have been discharged after recovering, informed state additional chief secretary information, Navneet Sehgal, here on Thursday.
There has been a steady decline in active cases since April 30 and currently, there are 1,789 active cases, in which 1,334 people are in home isolation.
Not a single new case was found in 33 districts, while single-digit cases were found in 41 districts. Only in Varanasi, there are 11 fresh cases.
The recovery rate of corona in the state has further improved to 98.6 percent. So far, more than 16,82,589 people of the state have become healthy after getting cured of corona infection.
Mr. Sehgel said Thursday there is not a single infected patient in Shravasti, Kasganj, and Aligarh districts.
If no new case of infection is found in Kasganj, Shravasti, and Aligarh districts for the next one week, then the districts will be rewarded, he added.
UP is going to be the first state to conduct more than six crore Covid tests.
In the last 24 hours, 2,59,174 Covid samples were tested and the positivity rate was less than 0.04 percent. So far, more than 5,98,48,583 tests have been done in the state. This is the highest number of Covid testing done by any single state in the country.
In the last 24 hours, more than 7,10,958 people of the state got the vaccine cover. So far more than 3.52 crore vaccine doses have been administered, he said.(UNI)
