Vijayawada, May 16:Massive spike of fresh cases of Coronavirus continued in Andhra Pradesh as 24,171 new cases registered while 101 more patients died during a period of 24 hours.
A health bulletin here on Sunday said that 94,550 swab samples were diagnosed during a period of 24 hours ending at 9 am today of which 24,171 were tested positive for Coronavirus while 101 patients died. The pandemic has claimed the lives of 9,372 patients so far. There are 2,10,436 active cases in the state now.
Highest number of new cases 3356 was reported in Anantapur district, 2876 in East Godavari district, 2885 in Chittoor district and 2041 cases were reported in Visakhapatnam district.
The total number of positive cases has risen to 14,35,491 while 12,15,683 have been discharged from various hospitals. So far 1,79,75,305 swab samples have been tested so far.(UNI)
