Kakinada, Jan 3: Civil Supplies Corporation District Manager E Lakshmireddy said Today  that paddy from famers was being purchased directly at the Minimum Support Price(MSP) through 1,018 Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBK) in the district eliminating middlemen.
He told media persons on Monday that so far 3,48,914 Metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased from 64,650 farmers and Rs.90.79 Crores deposited directly in to the bank accounts of 8,873 farmers within 21 days.
“In Anaparty, Biccavolu, Pedapudi and Rangampet mandals of Anaparty constituency so far 37,471 metric tonnes of paddy including Grade one and common varieties was purchased from 8,371 farmers and already Rs 10.36 Crores amount was paid to them and the remaining farmers would be paid the amount within 21 days of paddy purchasing directly crediting to their accounts’ he added.
He made it clear that there was no truth in the reports that the farmers were not paid for the paddy purchased from them.(UNI)
