AP govt ignored CJI Ramana during Tirupati visit: Butchaiah
Vijayawada, Jun 13 :Telugu Desam Party senior leader and MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary Today strongly objected to the manner in which the Andhra Pradesh Government ignored giving proper protocol to Chief Justice of India Justice N V Ramana during his latest visit to Tirupati.
Mr. Butchaiah Chowdary asked whether the ruling YSRCP leaders would not acknowledge the fact that Justice Ramana was the second Telugu Justice to adorn the Chief Justice of India post, next only to Justice Koka Subba Rao. This was true in the entire history of united and residual Andhra Pradesh. Only two Telugus reached to the top most post in the Indian judiciary till now.
In a statement here, the TDP MLA deplored that just two MLAs of the ruling party were present during the CJI’s visit to the temple town. In addition, there was Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman and the Executive Officer.
“Neither did the AP Chief Minister nor did any Minister come to accord a warm reception to the Chief Justice of India. Of the five Deputy Chief Ministers of AP, none had time enough to spare for the CJI visit”, he pointed out.
Mr. Butchaiah Chowdary asserted that good governance and right attitude would come with experience and wisdom. The Telangana Governor, Chief Minister and Ministers accorded a warm welcome to Justice Ramana during his visit to Hyderabad. Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao and his Ministers went to the place where Justice Ramana stayed and invited him for a visit to the Yadadri shrine. Minister K.T. Rama Rao went to the airport to receive the CJI, the TDP leader said.(UNI)
