AP CM expresses deep shock over Minister’s death
Vijayawada, Feb 21 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed deep shock and profound grief over the untimely demise of State Industries and IT Minister Mekapati Gowtham Reddy, who died due to heart attack in Hyderabad on Monday. In a statement here, Mr Reddy, termed Gowtham Reddy as a young promising leader who was known to him since early days and his expressed anguish over his death. He said that words fail to describe the loss of his young Cabinet colleague. The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members with a heavy heart. Official sources here Monday told media that Mr Reddy, who was in Visakapatnam now, was going to Hyderabad to pay homage to the departed YSRCP Minister. Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu also expressed shock and grief over Reddy’s death. He conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members. All the Cabinet Ministers, political leaders of various parties expressed grief and shock over the untimely death of Gowtham Reddy. His last rites would be held at his native town with full state honours, an official release here said. It may be mentioned here that Reddy suffered cardiac arrest and he died in a private hospital in Hyderabad while undergoing treatment this morning. Gowtham Reddy was born on November 2, 1971 and he was elected to AP Assembly from Atmakur constituency in Nellore district. The Minister’s father Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy was a former MP. (UNI)
