AP CM appeals PM for 25 lakh doses of COVID vaccine

Vijayawada, April 10:  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct the officials concerned in the Ministry of Health to supply 25 lakh doses of COVID vaccine to the state.

In a letter to Mr. Modi, a copy of which was released to media here on Saturday, the Chief Minister urged him for 25 lakh doses of COVID vaccine to celebrate the “Tika Utsav”.

“We have drawn an active plan to cover six lakh people (4 lakh in rural areas and two lakh in urban areas) per day totaling to 24 lakh people in four days of the ‘Tika Utsav’’, he said in the letter.

The Chief Minister said the vaccine supply must be assured for ensuring such Tika Utsav.

“Currently Andhra Pradesh has only two lakh doses and another two lakh doses are expected for our state which if made available to us before the April 11, Tika Utsav can be celebrated under your able leadership in my state in a grand manner and it can be showcased at National level”, Mr. Reddy said in the letter.
