VIJAYAWADA, OCT 6 : Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau court here on Friday reserved the Judgement on the bail petition of former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development case, to October 9.

Assistant Advocate General of AP CID police Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy and Naidu’s defence Lawyer Pramod Kumar Dubey presented their arguments before the Judge Hima Bindu. The arugments from both sides have been concluded on Friday.

The Judge also reserved the verdict on AP CID police’s plea seeking custody of Naidu for further questioning in the case.

Sudhakar Reddy told the Judge that Naidu has to be grilled on the bank accounts and sought his custody for which Pramod Kumar Dubey objected.

Dubey reminded the Judge that the former Chief Minsiter was given police remand for two days earlier and there is no need for further police custody of the TDP Chief.

It may be mentioned here that the ACB court extended Naidu’s judicial remand for the third time till October 19.

Naidu was arrested on September 9 and he was presently lodged in Rajhmundry Central Jail

Meanwhile, talking to the media, Pramod Kumar Dubey said that on behalf of Naidu, it was argued that the allegation of AP CID on the transfer of money as party fund was unfounded as the amount was duly accounted and Income Tax returns were filed on the alleged amount.

The entire case is malafide and the agency has no evidence to substantiate the case, Dubey asserted.

He said that the police custody of Naidu should not be granted as the first 14 days remand expired. It was argued before the court that as many as 13 accused in the Skill Development case were granted either regular bail or anticipatory bail, the lawyer said.

It was argued that the former CM is entitled to bail in the case, Dubey added.(UNI)
