Anjum Sharma: “The script & Milan sir’s guidance was my go to at all times”

NEW DELHI, OCT 8 : The road to power, a heart-warming friendship and the charm of the 60s, Disney+ Hostar’s upcoming power-packed series, Sultan Of Delhi has it all.

Based on the book, Sultan of Delhi: Ascension by Arnab Ray, the series is produced by Reliance Entertainment and Directed by Milan Luthria and Co-Directed and Co-written by Suparn Verma.

Reimagining the charm of old India and creating a visual spectacle on-screen, Milan Luthria marks his OTT directorial debut with this larger than life mass entertainer, ‘Sultan Of Delhi” which is all set to release on 13th October 2023.

The series stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anjumm Shharma, veteran actor Vinay Pathak alongside Nishant Dahiya and the ladies Anupriya Goenka, Mouni Roy, Harleen Sethi and Mehreen Pirzada, making for a perfect ensemble cast.

With the guidance and support of an ace director like Milan Luthria, one can never go wrong. Anjumm Shharma who essays the role of Bangali in Sultan Of Delhi, is indebted to Milan Luthria, who pushed him to put this best foot forward.

Talking about the same, Anjumm Shharma said, “I had started reading about my role, developing it in my head and building it for myself after the initial narrations and readings with Milan sir. He had given me such a deep understanding of Bangali, his weak points, his strength and his journey which majorly helped me in getting into the skin of the character for the show.

I made my own analysis about the multi-layered character of Bangali and made some pointers about the role before the shooting began.

With regards to references, I would say the script and Milan sir’s guidance was my go to at all times. I wanted to humanize the character because I feel once the audience identifies with the character, they stay with him throughout the show.”

Sultan of Delhi is set to stream, 13th October, 2023 onwards, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.(UNI)
