LUCKNOW, JUNE 12 :  The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday sought a reply from the central government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG), the results of which were published June 4.

The order was passed by the bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan on a petition filed by one Ayushi Patel. The court has fixed June 18 as the next date of hearing.

The bench observed that the matter should be dealt seriously as it is related to future of aspirants.
The petitioner has sought directives from the court to set up an inquiry against the NTA and not to finalise the process of the admissions.

Assistant Solicitor General SB Pandey, appearing for the NTA, submitted that there was no discrepancy or anomaly in the NEET-UG 2024.

The Supreme Court is also likely to hear this week, petitions filed by students against the random awarding of grace marks to some candidates in the NEET UG 2024 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

A Vacation Bench of the top court comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah on June 11 (Tuesday) issued notice to the Centre and NTA over a petition seeking to cancel the results of the NEET-UG 2024, a competitive entrance test for undergraduate medical courses, amid allegations that the paper was leaked.
The apex court bench remarked, “The sanctity of the exam has been affected, so we need answers.”(UNI)
