Ajit Pawar remembers Vasantrao Naik on his birth anniversary
Mumbai, Jul 1 : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Today offered tributes to former state Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik on his birth anniversary.
Paying his tribute, Mr Pawar said: “Through untiring efforts and foresighted decisions, Vasantrao Naik brought about an agricultural revolution in the state. He led the state during the difficult period of 1972 drought.”
Despite the challenges of that time, he did not give up and work for the people, Mr Pawar added.
He found opportunities in crisis. He introduced employment guarantee scheme for the poor. Provided hybrid seeds to farmers. Increased water conservation work. Agriculture showed the way to sustainable development. The agricultural revolution was successfully carried out in the state under his leadership, the deputy CM concluded.(UNI)
