Ajit Pawar pays rich tributes to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on 101st death anniversary
Aurangabad/Mumbai, Aug 1: Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today paid tributes to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the father of Indian discontent against the British rule and the great leader of the country’s freedom struggle on the occasion of his 101st death anniversary.
In his official statement, Mr. Pawar stated that Lokmanya Tilak worked to unite the people against the British rule which had ruled the country for more than a century. He has given thought to the country’s people that ‘Swarajya’ is the birthright of Indians and should we should fight for it.
He took care of the Indian independence struggle that continued against British rule for which the people’s movement was formed.
Tilak’s leadership, struggles, and sacrifices of millions of Indians to preserve the country’s independence, unity, integrity, sovereignty, and the values of the Constitution to inculcate deep values in society will be a true tribute to Tilak, added Mr. Pawar.
While paying tribute to Sahitya Ratna Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe on his birth anniversary, Mr. Pawar said that Sahityaratna Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe was an active writer. He made a significant contribution to the country’s freedom struggle and post-independence development. On the strength of his writing and poetic voice, he successfully fought for the liberation of the United Maharashtra and Goa.
The real-life struggle of the weak, deprived, and neglected members of the society were brought before the world through his literature, Mr. Pawar added. (UNI)
