Air Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 43 lakh at Kannur Int’l Airport
Kannur, Jun 29 : Air Customs sleuths on Tuesday seized 894 grams of gold valued around Rs 43 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Bahrain in an Air India flight.
Customs Joint Commissioner Kishor S-led team detained Shibin Stephen of Alakkode in this district with the smuggled gold.
The gold in compound form was concealed in his rectum.
He was arrested and enlarged on bail.
Further investigation is underway, Customs sources said.(UNI)
