After Congress, MP Sambhajiraje seeks ban on ‘Renaissance State’ book

Kolhapur, May 26 : Rajya Sabha MP Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Bhosale Today demanded a ban on ‘Renaissance State’, a book penned by Girish Kuber on the making of Maharashtra as a state.

Substantiating his demand, the BJP parliamentarian averred that the author has written objectionable content against his royal ancestors Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Matoshri Soyarabai Ranisaheb.

Hence, the book must be banned before it reaches the readers, MP Raje sought while writing a letter to the book’s publisher.

He also demanded the state government to seize all the prints of Renaissance State and take action against Mr Kuber.

Asserting that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s contribution to the society is publicly known, he told that the defamatory texts have been written deliberately with a specific design.

Maharashtra Congress has also sought immediate ban on the book, underscoring that the book “hurts Marathi identity”.(UNI)
