Accused Dr. Anahita has been discharged from Mum Hospital in the Cyrus Mistry auto accident case

MUMBAI, DEC 22 : Dr Anahita Pundole, accused of rashly driving her luxury car resulting in death of business tycoon Cyrus Mistry and her brother-in-law Jehangir Pundole, was discharged from a private hospital here on Thursday.
Dr Anahita (55) spent 108 days at the Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital after she suffered serious injuries, along with her husband Darius Pundole, in the September 4 car crash over a bridge on the Surya River in neighbouring Palghar district.
Dr Anahita returned home around a week after the Palghar Police’s Kasa police station finalised its chargesheet in the accident case, even as the probe revealed that she was a habitual ‘speedster’, sources said.
The Palghar Police is all set to file the chargesheet in a district court after completing formalities like her arrest and statement recording soon, officials indicated.
Dr Pundole has been charged under sections 304(A), 279, 337 of Indian Penal Code and sections of the Motor Vehicles Act by the Kasa police station.
If proved guilty and convicted, she can face at least two years in jail, sources added.(UNI)
