HYDERABAD, MAY 8    :    BJP Telangana state President and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday clarified that BJP had not lodged any complaint to the Election Commission to stop disbursal of Rythu Bandhu money into the bank accounts of farmers in the state.

He alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was blaming the BJP over stopping of Rythu Bandhu money for their political mileage.

Addressing a press conference here, Kishan Reddy said “If the CM was concerned about the farmers, he would have released the amount much before the announcement of the poll schedule. The CM is deceiving the farmers as he has no intention to release the amount,” he pointed out.

Accusing the Congress and the BRS of “spreading lies” about reservations, the union Minister said the two parties were misleading the people that BJP had plans to scrap reservations, which was not true.

“Though Prime Minister Modi has clarified on the reservation issue several occasions, the two parties are still raising the issue on every platform,” he alleged.
Days after the Chief Minister had promised to deposit Rythu Bandhu amount to the remaining four lakh farmers in their bank accounts on or before May 9, the Election commission of India on Tuesday stopped the disbursement of the input assistance until the conclusion of Lok Sabha polls in Telangana on May 13.

The EC instructed the Telangana government to halt the payment process immediately and submit a compliance report.

At a meeting, the CM on Tuesday accused the BRS and BJP of “jointly conspiring” to complain to the ECI to stop disbursal of Rythu Bandhu money into the bank account of farmers.(UNI)
