ACB sleuths caught Panchayat Secretary on bribe charges
Hyderabad, Sep 30 : Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)officials today caught a Panchayat Secretary when she was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 20,000.
Ms Anuradha, Panchayat Secretary, Chowdarpally Gram Panchayat of Mahmadabad Mandal in Mahabubnagar District was caught red handed at Railway Bridge ‘X Roads when she demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant Boini Anjaneyuiu of Rio Mohammadabad village in the same district to do an official favour.
The Panchayat Secretary accepted the bribe for doing a favour for having generated a cheque for Rs. 3,00,000 for the CC road work and other works undertaken by the complainant’s father and also to generate cheque for the balance amount of Rs 3,58,418 and submit it to the Office of the STO, Mahabubnagar, a ACB release here said.
The trap amount of Rs 20,000 was recovered from the possession of the Accused Officer (AO) at her instance. Fingers of her both hands yielded positive results in the chemical test.
The AO performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
Anuradha was being arrested and produced before the 15 Additional Special Judge for SPE and AB cases, here, the release added.(UNI)
