Indonesia plans to reopen border for tourists from China, Netherlands, Poland
Moscow, April 7 (Sputnik): Indonesia could open its border for tourists arriving from China, Poland, Ukraine, the Netherlands and other countries, media reported citing Tourism Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno on Wednesday.
The minister told the Straits Times newspaper that Indonesia plans to introduce new 60-day tourist visas limiting travel only to a chosen area.
According to the minister, people entering Indonesia could be asked to present negative swab test results done before the flight and on arrival. Tourists could also need to install mobile applications that let the authorities trace them and conduct tests if necessary.
He added that it is likely that entry for tourists would be limited. For example, Bali will accept no more than two flights a day as part of the pilot program.
Indonesia has so far registered more than 1.54 million COVID-19 cases, more than 1.39 million people were cured, and 41,977 died of the disease.(UNI)
