Marathwada region reports 5,445 fresh COVID cases, 91 deaths
Aurangabad, April 7:The eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region reported 5, new cases of COVID-19 and 91 deaths in a single day, health authorities here said on Wednesday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad was the worst affected, with 1,337 cases and 30 deaths, followed by Nanded with 1,062 new cases and 23 deaths, Beed registered 716 new cases and 10 deaths, Parbhani had 436 cases and 9 deaths, Osmanabad had 415 cases and 8 deaths, Jalna 425 cases 5 deaths, Latur 925 cases and 3 deaths and Hingoli had 129 cases and 3 deaths.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours total of 55,469 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 31,13,354.
The state also registered 297 more deaths during the same period, taking the death toll to 56,330.
Meanwhile, a total of 34,256 patients recovered and were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 25,83,331 across the state.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 82.98 percent and the fatality rate is 1.81 percent.
At present there are 4,72,283 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centers and hospitals, they added.
It may be noted that in view of the rising number of cases the state government has imposed strict restrictions and weekend curfew across the state under the initiative of ‘ break the chain ‘.(UNI)
