Vijayawada, April 6:Telugu Desam Party MLC Mantena Satyanarayana Raju on Tuesday dismissed the open letter written by YS Vijaya Lakshmi, mother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a ‘political gimmick’ to divert the public attention from the failures of the YSRCP government to nab the criminals responsible for the YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case.
Mr. Satyanarayana Raju asked why Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi was lowering her own dignity by trying to cover up the mistakes of her son and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Her latest letter was nothing but a desperate attempt to protect and cover up her son’s sins in the past 22 months, he alleged.
In a statement here, the TDP MLC suggested that she demand an explanation from the YSRCP government as to why it was safeguarding and protecting the accused persons in the former Lok Sabha MP’s murder case and added that Ms.Y S Sunitha Reddy, the daughter of the slain Vivekananda Reddy has been urging for justice to her deceased father for the last two years.
Mr. Raju said that it seemed the latest letter of YS Vijaya Lakshmi was aimed at bailing out her Chief Minister son YS Jagan Reddy from the political crisis brewing on the Viveka murder in the midst of the Tirupati byelection.
The Chief Minister should answer why he demanded the CBI probe in the beginning but hampering the investigation now at every stage, he demanded. (UNI)
