Puducherry, April 6: Former Chief Minister and N R Congress President N Rangaswamy on Tuesday exuded confidence said that the party alliance will register a victory in the Assembly election.

Talking to newspersons after visiting several booths in the Thattanchavady constituency, Mr. Rangaswamy said that the people are casting their votes with enthusiasm.

Watching their mood, it is clear that the NR Congress alliance will register a massive victory.

He said the people are well aware that the Congress government led by Mr. Narayanasamy did nothing for the welfare of the people in the UT.

Hence, the NR Congress alliance, comprising BJP and AIADMK, will win the maximum seats, he added.

Meanwhile, four members of a family were disappointed a lot when they were informed that their votes were already cast.

Kumar of Nellithoppe Periyar Nagar along with his wife Manimeghalai and daughters Sushmita and Divya came to the booth in the Subhash Chandrabose school.

When they produced the booth slip and their EPIC, election officials informed them that somebody had exercised their franchise earlier.

Kumar argued with the officials that they are coming as a family now and wanted to cast their votes. As the officials did not respond, the family resorted to a dharna in front of the booth.

Police personnel took them to the Election officer who pacified them stating nothing could be done in the matter. (UNI)
