COVID-19: Telangana records 1321 more cases
Hyderabad, April 4 : Continuing to witness a record daily surge in COVID-19 cases,
Telangana registered 1,321 fresh Coronavirus infections until 2000 hours on Saturday
increasing the state’s total caseload to 3,12,140 till now.
This is the second consecutive day in 2021 when the southern state has registered more than 1,000 cases in a day.
The state also saw five COVID-19 deaths taking its total death toll to 1,717.
The case fatality rate in the state currently stands at 0.55 percent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 percent, said the state health department bulletin on Sunday.
As many as 293 people have recovered from the ailment across the state as of Saturday pushing the overall recoveries till date to 3,02,500 constituting a recovery rate of 96.91 percent while the national recovery rate stands at 93.1 percent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 7,923 including 3,866 individuals in-home or institutional isolation, said the bulletin.
Between Friday and Saturday, a total of 62,973 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2,070 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than one crore four lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was worse affected as it registered a maximum of 320 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (144), Rangareddy (121), Nizamabad (92), Nirmal (64), Sangareddy (49), Jagityal (46), Warangal Urban (43), Karimnagar (41), Rajanna Siricilla (35), Adilabad and Mahaboobnagar had 30 cases each, Nalgonda (28), Mancherial (24) and Khammam (23).
The remaining coronavirus cases of the day have been registered by other districts, said the bulletin. (UNI)
