Hyderabad, April 3: Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Telangana during the next 24 hours, Meteorological Centre said on Saturday.
In a bulletin here, it said that the maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees celsius in Rayalaseema during the next five days and at isolated places in Telangana on April 4 and 5.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next five days.
Thunderstorm with gusty winds with speed ranging 40-50 kmph along with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in the above places from April 4 to 7.
Dry weather is likely to prevail in Telangana, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the next five days, the bulletin said.
Severe heatwave conditions prevailed in Bapatla and Ongole of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.
Heatwave conditions prevailed in Kavali, Nellore, and Vijayawada of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati of Rayalaseema and in Khammam district of Telangana during the same period.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius was recorded in Badrachalam of Telangana and Tirupati of Rayalaseema on Friday, the bulletin added. (UNI)
