Mah: Latur Agri dept encourages farmers to grow soybean
Latur, Mar 30 : For the first time in the district, the Department of Agriculture has encouraged the farmers to cultivate summer soybeans so that there is an abundant supply of quality soybean seeds.
Experimental farmers responded to this call by planting summer soybeans.
Summer soybean is cultivated on a maximum 64 acres in Nilanga taluka.
Under the guidance of District Agriculture Officer Latur, a large number of summer soybeans have been planted in Latur district.
For this, Rs 1500 per acre is being given as an incentive grant at the government level, sources added.
It may be noted that rates of edible oil have been significantly raised across the country.(UNI)
