Puducherry,Mar 29:  As many as 125 more persons were tested positive for Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) and one died in the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM Today taking the tally of infection to 41226 and death to 681.

The lone death was reported in Mahe region of the union territory.

According to the Covid 19 status for Monday released by the health department, of the 1464 swab tests taken yesterday,125 tested positive for the virus.91 new cases were reported in Puducherry region,28 in Karaikal and six in Mahe region.40 persons were discharged in the alst 24 hours.39 of them were from Puducherry region and one from Mahe region.

Presently,207 persons are being treated in Puducherry region,68 in Karaikal region three in Yanam and four in Mahe region.Another,709 positive cases are under home isolation in all the four regions of the union territory.

So far,41226 persons were infected by the virus of which 39554 were treated and discharged and 681 died leaving 991 active cases here.The case fatality rate in the UT is 1.65 percent and recovery rate 95.94 percent.

Abubecker,a 67 year old man with Diabetes Melitus and Coronary Artery Disease(CAD) died in Mahe GH due to Covid cardiac arrest.

As many as 62799 persons were given Covid vaccine so far in the UT.This include 24950 health care workers,10467 Front Line workers and 27382 general public.(UNI)
